Privacy Policy

Effective date: 15 October 2026

How we handle information when you use CSMIC VR or visit csmic.tech, and how to contact us about your data.

Who we are

CSMIC VR is a product of Revolutionary Electronic Network Limited, a private company limited by shares registered in England and Wales, company number 17256340. Our registered office is 2 Stroud Field, Northolt, England, UB5 5SL. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean this company.

This policy covers our CSMIC VR app for Meta Quest and this website. Some development builds may identify the app as Lono. For privacy questions or requests, email contact@csmic.tech.

The essentials

  • The app does not require a CSMIC VR account. It does not include advertising, in-app purchases, voice features, user uploads or app analytics.
  • Music is downloaded from our content provider and cached on your headset. Appearance settings are saved locally.
  • Headset/controller movement and the playing music are processed locally to operate the interface and visualizers. We do not upload those signals.
  • We have not enabled optional analytics or access logs for this website or the app’s music bucket. Providers still process technical information needed to deliver and protect their services.

Information used by the app

Music and content delivery

The app requests its music catalogue and downloads selected tracks when they are not already cached. The six standard genre artworks are bundled with the app; additional or unmapped catalogue artwork may be downloaded. Our music is hosted on Cloudflare R2.

Delivering these files necessarily involves processing technical request information, such as your IP address, the requested file, request timing and technical client information sent with the request. A requested music filename can indicate which track was downloaded. We do not add a CSMIC VR account identifier to these requests or operate a separate listening-history profile.

Settings and cached music

The app stores your environment, visualizer choice and visual intensity on the headset. Downloaded MP3 files are kept in the app’s private music cache for reuse. These files and preferences are not uploaded or synchronized by the app.

Movement and audio analysis

The app uses headset and controller poses supplied by the Quest/OpenXR system for head-tracked rendering, pointing, recentering and interface placement. It analyzes the music being played to animate bars, trails, particles and glow. This processing takes place in memory on your headset; the app does not record a movement history or send this analysis to us.

The app does not capture microphone audio, voice, camera images, eye-tracking data or room scans. Its visualizers respond to app music, not recordings from your surroundings.

Website visits and contacting us

Our hosting providers receive the technical information needed to serve website pages and assets, such as IP addresses and request information. We do not add advertising or analytics cookies, use optional website analytics, or enable optional website access logs.

If you email us, we receive your email address, any name you provide, your message and any attachments you choose to send. We use this information to answer you, investigate support issues and handle your request. Please avoid sending passwords, payment details, identity documents or personal information that is not needed.

Why we process information

We use information to provide requested content, remember local choices, operate and secure our services, respond to support and privacy requests, and meet applicable legal obligations.

For technical delivery, service security and ordinary support, our legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a reliable service and responding to people who contact us. We process information necessary to handle legal rights requests or other legal duties to comply with those obligations. We do not use your information for targeted advertising or automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

Providers and other disclosures

We use hosting, content-delivery and communications providers to deliver the service and respond to you. Cloudflare processes technical network and request information when serving app content, including information needed for delivery, reliability and security. Its own operational processing continues even though we have not enabled optional analytics or access logs. Read Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy for its practices, including international processing.

Providers may process information in the countries where they operate. We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising. We may disclose information where required by law, or where necessary to protect legal rights or the security of our services.

Meta separately operates your Quest account, the Store and headset services. Their platform processing and privacy controls are separate from this policy. The current app does not request your Meta profile or account identity through a Platform SDK feature.

How long information is kept

On your headset: cached music and saved preferences remain until removed using available device app-data controls or by uninstalling the app. Device or platform backup settings may retain or restore data separately. See Data deletion for the available routes.

Correspondence and requests: we keep information for as long as needed to respond, deal with related follow-up, and satisfy applicable legal obligations or establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Information is deleted when it is no longer needed for these purposes.

Provider technical data: retention depends on the provider’s applicable operational, security and legal requirements. We do not maintain optional access-log copies for the website or music bucket, and we do not promise a single retention period for all provider systems.

Your choices and rights

You can contact contact@csmic.tech to request access, correction or deletion of personal information we hold about you. Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights to restrict or object to processing and to receive a portable copy of certain information.

We may ask for limited information to locate the relevant records and confirm that a request relates to you. We will respond without undue delay and within applicable legal time limits. If a legal exception applies or we cannot identify information held about you, we will explain the outcome. Full instructions are on our Data deletion page.

Please contact us if you have a concern. You can also complain to a relevant data-protection authority. In the UK, this is the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Children and headset requirements

Use of the app must follow Meta’s applicable account and age requirements and any applicable app content rating. We do not ask children to submit personal details through the app. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact contact@csmic.tech so we can review it and take appropriate action.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change and show the revised effective date. Where required, we will provide additional notice of significant changes.
