To help us understand the issue, include your headset model, the app version if you know it, the track or mood involved, and what you did just before the problem appeared. Let us know what you expected and what happened instead.

A short description is enough to start. Please do not send passwords, payment details or other sensitive information. Device logs are not required.

Start with a track

  1. Connect your Quest headset to the internet and open CSMICVR with your Touch controllers awake.
  2. From Home, choose Explore tracks, or open Library and choose a mood.
  3. Select a track and wait for the loading, downloading or preparing message to finish. The first download can take longer on a slower connection.
  4. Once the track has loaded, choose Visualizer. Use the playback controls to pause or resume, and Return to go back to your music.

The current library contains 20 tracks across six moods: Bright, Dark, Energetic, Hopeful, Relaxing and Suspense.

Common questions

Why is the Visualizer button grey?

A track needs to finish loading before Visualizer becomes available. Choose a track first, then wait for it to be ready. If a download fails, check your connection and use Retry, or try another track.

Music will not load or the library is empty.

The library catalogue and first download of each track need an internet connection. Check that the headset is online, then use Retry if the app shows an error. Try another track to see whether the issue affects one song or the whole library.

If the app reports that it cannot save a track, free some space on the headset and retry. If the problem continues, close and reopen the app, check for app and headset updates, and email us with the track name and the message shown.

Are downloaded tracks saved on my headset?

Selected tracks are cached in the app's private storage so they can be reused without downloading the same file again. The library catalogue still needs a network connection when it loads. Cached music is not a separate music-file export or a guarantee that the whole app will work offline.

Where do I change the visualizer or environment?

While viewing a visualizer, use the four choices below the playback controls: Spectrum, Circle, Expanding Ring and Sphere. The smaller playback button for Expanding Ring is labelled Expanding.

Open Settings to choose from the four environments or change visual intensity. Choose Done to return.

What do Gentle, Balanced and Vivid change?

These are visual intensity settings. They change bar height, audio-driven trail movement and beat glow. Gentle gives a softer response, Balanced sits in the middle, and Vivid gives a stronger response. They do not change music volume; use your headset's volume controls for that.

What happens when I open the Meta system menu?

CSMICVR pauses playback while the app loses focus. When you return, music that was playing can resume. If you had already paused it yourself, it stays paused until you choose Play.

The panel is not comfortably in front of me.

Face the direction where you want the interface, then hold the Meta button on your right Touch controller to recenter. The app places its interface in front of your view when you enter or recenter. Leave yourself a clear, comfortable space and take a break if you feel uncomfortable.

Playback or controls still do not behave as expected.

Check that your controllers are awake, return from any system overlay, and try pausing and resuming the track. If needed, close and reopen CSMICVR and check that the app and headset are up to date. Tell us whether the problem happens in the music library, a particular visualizer, or after returning from the Meta menu.
